10 TIPS ON HOW TO SMUDGE SAGE?

You can easily light SAGE:

  1. from a candle flame (you can also use small "tea" candles, just keep one separate candle for the ritual - for lighting the Sage);
  2. sage ignites quite quickly; you can rotate it a little to one side and the other so that it catches fire better, then it will smudge more intensely;
  3. if the room is small, one well-lit sage is enough, with which you can walk through the rooms or smudge in one place;
  4. smudge only in a heat-resistant bowl or seashell, as lit leaves sometimes fall off and fine ashes crumble;
  5. sage can be extinguished by blowing air or shaking it vigorously to put out the open flame, and then the sage scent - smoke - will begin to smudge;
  6. if you have smudged too much sage and want to extinguish it immediately, you can rub the smudging part of the sage into a heat-resistant bowl to release the red hot embers (be careful not to burn yourself);
  7. if it's an emergency and you need to extinguish it here and now, then dip the smudging part of the sage (the smudging tip) briefly into a bowl of water (a glass of water can also be used) or hold it under a tap. However, if you want to light the sage again, it should be well dried;
  8. sage can be burned as many times as needed;
  9. smudge with the window open, for a short period, a few minutes, so that the "air energy" from outside can enter.
  10. it's better to smudge without animals in the room, as they are very sensitive to smells.
